When we walked into the Furniture Forum store in West Palm Beach on November 29th 2009, we were greeted by Mike T. he seemed like a really nice guy and he was happy to show us around. We chose a couch with an attached chaise. He said that if we decided to buy the floor model, that we would have to have someone come in to pick it up that day, but that they couldn't deliver it for us. Although, if we ordered it, it would be there in 2 days and it would be like 2 hundred dollars cheaper, but we had to pay $60.00 for delivery. My mother in law was buying as a gift for my husband and I so we decided to do that, and she signed some paperwork.That was the first mistake, The paper stated that there were no returns , no returns due to out of stock merchandise or backordered things. No returns due to delay in delivey, no returns period.
I called on the day they were supposed to be delivering it, they said it was ordered with the chaise on the wrong side, and they had to re-order it. That it would take 2 weeks to get here. After 2 weeks, they didn't call me so I called and they said that due to the holidays it was going to be longer to deliver-another week. I called the next week and it was on backorder and they'd call me when it came in. I kept asking for a specific date and they wouldn't give me one. They said another 2 weeks. FINALLY they called to tell me it was in and would be delivered that day around 1-2pm. It didn't get here until almost 5:30pm. They started putting it together and not only was the chaise on the wrong side, but it was missing the entire back of the couch! I refused to sign the paper and told them to send it back. I told them that I didn't want it anymore because of all the bull. They called their store and I told the sales person to forget it. They said they would re order it for me. I said no and I got off the phone with them. They called and wanted to speak to my husband and basically told him that we had to accept the offer to order it again that we had no choice that there were no returns. He asked them if they were threatening him.They said that he could try to dispute the purchase with Visa, but that they would drag it out as long as possible so that we would have as much intrest accrued as possible.They called 2 days later and they said that they had ordered it again for me and it would be here by the 25th of January. I told them again that I didn't. want it, and that I wouldn't let the truck in the gate of my community. They restated that it would be delivered, I restated that I didn't want e!it, but said do what you have to do, and I'll do what I have to. When my Mother in law called Visa and told them what was going on, they said no problem, and that they already had a large file of disputes against the store
The bottom line is...DON'T SHOP THERE!!!!
If there were a way to select NO stars, I would have!
