I've lived in the Los Angeles area for over 15 years, and a mechanic here is more essential than a doctor.
Dan McNally of McNally Automotive is the best mechanic I've ever met in Los Angeles. His expertise, knowledge, and hunger for all details automotive is amazing. It clearly shows in what he does for his customers.
Case in point, this week while working on the turn signals and hazard switch for my 83 Toyota Celica (he repaired the switch, saving a very pricey replacement), he noticed one headlight was dimmer than the other. He took care of the headlight for me and it's a serious improvement.
That's simply what's happened recently. He got an 86 Skyhawk I owned to pass smog legally by independent inspection, when two other independent mechanics failed. The problem was an exhaust leak the other guys missed.
When I bring a car to Dan, I know it is good hands.
