Well, my wife and I have owned a Maltese before - gave it to her Mom. Now, we are looking for another one. Here comes "Premium Breeders" on the search engine. They claim they are not a broker. However, when you question them further they reveal that they are not a breeder but "place" puppies on behalf of their exclusive network of private breeders. Am I stupid?
They attempt to conduct an interview with you by someone they call an "environmental specialist" (AKA: slick salesperson)just to make sure YOU are qualified to purchase from them. Am I stupid?
The "environmental specialist" wants to insure the puppy goes to a qualified prospect (prospect equals someone stupid with money). You must be willing to go through a 15 minute process of giving up personal information, address, phone number, email, etc... before they ever give you ANY information on ANY puppy.
About five minutes into this I realized this was nothing more than a puppy broker with candy coating on the outside. I said "No, Thanks. I am not that stupid."
Caveat emptor.
